Your data
What we hold, how to take it with you, and how to destroy it. Everything we store about you fits on this page. That's on purpose.
What we store
Your account: email, name, username, and the city you pick (we store its coordinates, which is how distance is calculated).
What you tell us about yourself: date of birth, and — only if you fill them in — gender, who you're interested in, ethnicity, work, education, height, and your profile photos.
Your questionnaire answers — all three parts: what's true for you, what you'd accept from a partner, and your dealbreakers. Plus any custom questions you write and their answers.
What you do here: your connections and the reports you've unlocked, your dating log, and your persona result.
Your persona quiz: if you took it before signing up, your quiz answers and result, plus any birth date, gender and ethnicity you chose to share. If you delete your account, this copy is unlinked from you and kept, de-identified, for statistics like how rare each persona is.
The boring technical bit: basic device and usage data, and error logs — the things any website needs to stay up and to find out what broke.
That's all of it. If something isn't on this list, we don't have it.
What we never do
We never sell your data. No ads, so no ad pixels, no third-party trackers, no cross-site tracking. The only companies that touch your data are the ones that run Aligned for us — payments, sign-in, hosting — and they're named in the Privacy Policy. None of them may use it for anything but running Aligned.
We do run our own product analytics — we need to know which screens confuse people — and it's de-identified and only ever looked at in aggregate. We're telling you that instead of writing “we don't track you,” because sweeping claims are how privacy pages lie.
Who sees what
The other person sees the report at the detail level you both chose — always the lower of the two. They never see your raw answers. Not at any detail level, not by paying, not ever.
How the score itself is built is on How scoring works.
Your dating log is private
Nobody sees it but you. We don't analyse it, we don't summarise it, we don't feed it to a model, and we don't send it to anyone. It contains notes about people who never signed up for this — so the only defensible thing to do with it is nothing.
Taking it with you
TODO — export control + what the file contains. Blocked on the control existing.
Deleting it
TODO — blocked on account deletion actually working (06-05 P-DATA). Must also answer: what happens to a shared report the other person still has?
The formal versions live in the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. This page is the plain-language one. Where they disagree, the policies win and this page is a bug — tell us.
