Privacy Policy

Aligned ("we," "us") operates this service. This explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. Questions or requests: support@arewealigned.app.

1. What we collect

  • Account: name, email, and date of birth (and, if you use Google sign-in, your Google email).
  • Profile: gender, who you are interested in, photos, city and approximate location, and optional details you add (such as ethnicity, height, education, or work). Some of this is sensitive. You provide it voluntarily so we can measure compatibility.
  • Activity: your questionnaire answers, custom questions, compatibility results and personas, and private notes in your dating log.
  • Persona quiz: if you take the public persona quiz, we store your quiz answers and computed result under a random quiz ID (no name or email), plus an optional birth date, gender and ethnicity if you choose to share them. These are used only for aggregate statistics like persona rarity. If you later create an account, that record is linked to it. If you delete your account, it is unlinked from your account and kept for aggregate statistics.
  • Technical: basic device and usage data, and error logs to keep the app working.

2. How we use it

To run your account, generate compatibility results and personas, connect you with people you choose, process payments, keep the service safe, and contact you about your account. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Who we share it with

Service providers that operate Aligned on our behalf, under contract and only as needed: Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Cloudflare (photo storage and delivery, and bot protection on the persona quiz, which you can take without an account, through Cloudflare Turnstile, covered by the Turnstile Privacy Addendum), Mapbox (location search), Vercel (hosting), Sentry (error monitoring), and Google (only if you use Google sign-in). We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of people.

4. Your choices

You can view and edit your profile in the app, and request a copy or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@arewealigned.app (or through in-app account deletion). We delete your data when you ask or close your account, with two exceptions: limited records we must keep by law (such as payment records), and a persona quiz record from before you signed up, which is unlinked from your account and kept for aggregate statistics.

5. Photos

Your profile photos are shown to others according to your visibility settings. Do not upload photos you do not have the right to share.

6. Security

We use reputable providers and standard safeguards, but no service is 100% secure.

7. Age

Aligned is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Where we operate

Your data is processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

9. Changes

We will update this page and the effective date if this policy changes.
